For centuries fight fans had only a single outlet for their love of the sport. Those fight fans were limited to watching their favorite boxers compete for glory, either from their ringside seats (if they were lucky) or from in front of their TV screens (if they were not).
For eons, boxing was the only professionally sanctioned form of fighting, and fans flocked to the ring to see their favorites take on all comers.
It was that much sweeter, therefore, when the world of fighting and professional grappling was suddenly expanded, and this new form of fighting started gaining new fans right away. Some of these fans came from the world of boxing, while others were already lovers of martial arts like karate and judo. But no matter where they came from, they were all lovers of a new form of choreographed combat, one known as mixed martial arts, or simply MMA.
It was November of 1993 when the world of mixed martial arts first got its start, but it took much longer for the sport to gain legitimacy and attract the legion of avid fans it enjoys today. After many years spent in the shadow of boxing, the world of mixed martial arts is finally coming into its own, and fight fans are coming out of the woodwork to see all the octagon action live and in person.
This year UFC fans will once again be returning to the octagon. That means tickets will be going fast, and you will want to act quickly if you plan to attend this coming year. If you wait too long the best seats in the house could be gone, so grab them now before they are all sold out.
